Totally lied when I said that would be my last update post. But this is more of a mini cat appreciation post.

Her name is Greta and she doesn't like to sit still lol. Although that's what makes the few pictures I do manage to snap even more special.

I always seem to capture her while she's off looking at something else.

These are just some of my favourite pictures I snapped in the last week.
Cheers xo

A Little Bit of This and That

This is final update for the night! The remainder of my pictures from the last week will all be up in one place now.

I wanted to start with an update of my lasted project. This is the beginning of a tape mural I am installing at school. You heard correct, tape. I will be recreating the drawing of my Polaroid camera on a blue wall all in white tape. It's actually a pretty cool concept.

I drew a grid on the original picture and again on the white Bristol board. I then drew the camera using the grid system to ensure it came it out exactly like the picture. And then I measured out the wall and created the same grid on the wall in tape. Tomorrow I will begin to draw out the final camera with tape. I'm pretty excited. I've never worked this large before and everyone who walks through this stairwell is going to see it. It's going to be really cool! And I'll continue to post my progress throughout the whole creation of my first "mural".

Thought I'd include a picture of one of my favorite moments out of every Monday. I talked about my little Starbucks ritual in one of my earlier posts found here. Although this was an especially amazing frap because the barrister put extra whipped cream and it popped out of the top. Actual perfection.

And an outfit post from last week.
Top: Forever 21
Jeans: Forever 21
Shoes: Traffic
Backpack: PINK
Sunglasses: Earthbound Trading Company

I am forever in love with these sunnies. The picture doesn't do it justice but they really are shiny and holographic. I'm adding the link here for the Earthbound website. I am not being sponsored by them at all, I just really love the store and everything they stand for. I've bought a lot from Earthbound, and all of the dream catchers I own are from them, a long with a handful of sunnies and other trinkets.

There is nothing better than taking a moment to do nothing but lay outside. Which is exactly what I did. It was so relaxing. It's just something that need to happen more often.

Not to mention, the grass looked like this! It had all these cute little flower.

The camera when off as I was trying to adjust it on my makeshift tripod. And by tripod I really mean a little garden side table stacked on top of a garden chair. And a candle holder to stand the camera up. Long story short, I just really like how this picture came out.

Wings so big I could fly.

And I had a cake pop.

Thought I'd through in a picture featuring my banana sweater I got from H&M.
Cheers xo

Birthday Post

My birthday was last weekend and I turned a whopping 20 years old! That means I have officially orbited the Earth 20. I've lived through 2 whole decades. And now I have my life in front of me.
The idea of turning 20 was actually pretty scared for a while. It really made me step back and evaluate my life and I feel as though I have accomplished nothing. Like I've wasted 20 years just getting by but never really living. A lot of things factored into this feeling and idea, some of which I don't really want to get into just yet.

But as the day quickly approached I began to find peace in the fact that I was turning 20. I was no longer a teenager, even if I still think I am haha. I'm only one year away for 21, full adulthood. And I decided that with the turning of 20 I am going to begin my life. I'm going to start really living and experiencing everything this wonderful world has to offer. A lot of soul searching will happen this year and I'm ready for it. I welcome it with open arms. Because it's time to start really working on my dreams and making everything I've ever wanted a reality.

My parents were dolls and had this set up for me when I woke up. I'm so grateful of everything they have given me, because on top of this they paid for my flight to North Carolina back in October. The bets birthday gift I could have ever possibly gotten.

The day was overall really chill and I just hung around the house. That night my parents and I along with my two of my best, and oldest friends were going to The Melting Pot to celebrate mine and mother's birthday, which is the day before mine.

The picture is not the best quality, but it's really the memories that matter most.

Dinner was so fun! The Melting Pot is a fondue restaurant were you cook the foods yourself. And let me tell you, we ate like pigs lol. It didn't feel like that as we were eating but as soon as we finished dessert (chocolate fondue) we were all ready to be rolled out of the restaurant!

But no matter how stuffed we were there was still cake at waiting for us at home. And by cake I really mean a cookie cake because I'm not a huge fan of regular cake. This cake was made by my mother, and she decorated it all by hand. It was so cute!

There's something really cool about a birthday cake, or birthday cookie ha. We present an individual with a sweet, all decorated and with there name on it. And the whole idea is that we're congratulating them, we're celebrating them and the fact they are one year older. There's no saddest in the idea that they get older, only joy. It's like the whole world is excited that they are getting and wiser. And then everyone shares the treat, be it cake or a cookie. And all of it is done together, with friends and with family. It's so happy and beautiful!

My mom also made these adorable chocolate Eiffel Towers. She's getting really good at making candies and sweets!

I thought I'd insert this selfie featuring my birthday dinner outfit. I didn't have time to take nice, blog-quality pictures of my outfit so this will have to do! My apologies. But the outfit details:
Top: Brandy Melville
Skirt: Pacsun
Shoes: Traffic
Tattoo Choker can be found at Calries

And of coarse I had to add two selfies with two of the baddest women I know. These lovely ladies have both been my best friends since we were all in 2nd grade, 13 years ago. It's crazy to think that we have been friends for more that half my lifetime. And it's even crazier that we have stayed friends for this long. Because it's true what they say, "Friends come and go". But they're more like sisters to me, so they'll be with me forever. Sometimes you do get to choose who your family is, and sometimes they choose you.

It was a great birthday and I couldn't be more thankful. Here's to a new years of self-discovery, wonder, and living life to the fullest. Cheers xo

Hello Again!

I know I've been away for way too long. I'm still figuring out where blog time fits into my crazy and busy life. I've been thinking about blogging and taking so man pictures and now I'm finally sitting down to write. This post will be an update on what's been going over the past week.

This was a homework assignment for my drawing class. We were told to replicate the Van Gogh drawing on the right using micron pen. My replication is on the left. It's not wonderful but it's not terrible either. This was actually my second attempt at it because the first was atrocious lol.

The weather last week started out bleak and cold. The temperature dropped to about 50 degrees and it was all rainy. But I honestly loved it. It was the perfect weather to just cuddle up with a book and a cup of coffee. Unfortunately I had school to attend to, which brings me to one of my outfits from last week.

Sticking to my normal all black uniform I went with a thick, slouchy, celestial sweater. I got this sweater from Goodwill last year when I lived in North Carolina. It is literally one of the comfiest sweaters I own.

I paired it with black jeggings and black boots to complete my slouchy look. Honestly, when the weather was as gray as it was my only intention was to be comfortable. And I was!

Here's a close-up detail of the sweater. All the beads and sequins were hand sewn onto the face of the sweater.

Even with the sky acting the way it was the hibiscus in my backyard still bloomed. They looked so bright and beautiful against the green of the bush and the gray of the sky.

And I thought I'd thrown in one of my doodles I did during class last week.

I have a love for 1950's lingerie. It's just fun to sketch.

That was my quick update for the beginning of the week. I'll also post updates for another outfit of the week and an update about my birthday!

Getting Back on Track

It has been quite some time since I've sat down to blog. There have been reasons.. school, homework overload, not being able to transfer pictures to my computer. But all of those are just excuses and totally invalid. The truth is, I am awful at time management. I know that if I actually planned my time out I so would have time to blog. So that's where I am. I'm working on my time-management and trying to figure out how to fit everything I need to do and want to do in one day. But then again aren't we all?

Anyway! I decided that this post would be dedicated to being my first ever OOTD (outfit of the day). I've never done one before but I've always wanted too. And who knows, maybe this can become a regular thing. I have to apologize in advance though. Being that this is my first time I don't expect it to be the best quality. Especially since I don't own a tripod and had to improvise haha. It was actually a struggle. I used a combination of an outdoor dinning chair, a plastic side table, and a birdhouse candle holder! Oh I rode the struggle bus today lol.

Being that it's Monday, I'm lucky enough to only have one class at 8 am. It's my three hour drawing class and I'm always out by 11 am. Which pretty much means that I don't always put the most effort into my outfits on Mondays' but I happened to really like this one today.

The original plan for class today was to go outside and continue our observational landscape drawings. Last week I totally wore a sweater to class not thinking we weren't going outside and ended up spending three hours in a thick white sweater in the hot Florida sun. So today I decided upon a cropped muscle tee.

As it turns out Florida decided to be it's normal bi-polar self and it was cloudy and wet this morning. So we ended up staying inside instead. As you can tell from the pictures the sky totally cleared up by midday and it was beautiful again.

The cropped muscle tee is was originally a t-shirt that got from Goodwill and cut up. The bra is Target. I have no shame in showing my bra or that bit of side boob. The black stud belt is from HotTopic. The black jeggings are from Khol's (but they're like two or three years old now so I doubt the store still carries them). The black boots are from Target as well. And the Galaxy backpack is from last years back to school collection at Victoria Secret's PINK. I don't recall where the sunglasses are from, and the bandanna is also from Goodwill.

Details of the shirt// It reads "POWER PLANT TWENTY TEN"
I have no idea what the shirt actually means, if anything at all. I just remember seeing at Goodwill and thinking "Woah, that shirt looks pretty rad." There's actually a yellow spray paint stain on the back of the shirt but personally I think it adds character.

I love this backpack. I worked last summer as a camp counselor and when I got my final paycheck I put all of my money away into savings. But I set aside a small amount that I knew would specifically go to this backpack. I'm pretty sure I'll forever love galaxy print.

Hair was in a messy bun with a bandanna tied around my head to keep all the flyaways in check haha.

And of coarse, my perfect accessory. A grande mocha frap, with whipped cream of coarse! It's my Monday tradition. Every Monday since the first week of school, as soon as I get out of class I drive to Starbucks and pick up a different frappachino. Lately I've only been going a mocha frap lol but I'll switch it up eventually.

I just think it's important for people to treat themselves every now and again. That's why I've made it a consistent in my life. Monday's can already suck just because it's a Monday, and there always seems to be something to stress about. So for about 15 minutes every Monday I go sit outside with my frap and I just sit. I don't worry about everything I need to do, or the growing pile of homework. Work and stress are always going to be there waiting. And if we never stop to take a break we'll do nothing but become consumed by it. It's important to just be.

And currently my backyard looks like a winter wonderland. All the little clovers everywhere make me so happy.

And finally, this is what I created in my art class today. I call it, Advanced Finger Painting. It's my version of an elephant sculpture and it was created using India Ink and my finger print. My teacher wasn't too fond of it and said it didn't look three dimensional enough. I can see where she is coming from but I personally really like the way it came. And in the end that's what it all comes down too. If you're proud of the work you've done then that's all that really matters. And with that I leave you. Have a great day!!
